Does any body know the proper code for mucous cyst of the finger? An orthopedic procedure seems to have to go into the joint to excise the cyst. Is it considered a ganglion? That is as close as I can figure out, but would welcome any input from others who code orthopedic procedures more often than I do. Thank you very much! Lisa

I am curious has to whether you received any responses to your question. I have a dx of mucous cyst of the finger on a patient and wondering if you found an approriate diagnosis code for this.

CPT would be 26160 and ICD-9 would be 727.42 for mucous or retinacular cyst.
